My career began in an unexpected place: the front desk of a historic hotel in Downtown Ann Arbor, Michigan.

While working as a Front Desk Supervisor in 2013, I noticed the hotel’s social media presence was largely inactive. I had an interest in social media management, so I took the initiative to propose a solution. Soon after, was given the title: Social Media Voice.

I used the hotel’s Facebook and Twitter accounts to keep guests informed, share local features, and build trust with a loyal, returning guest base. I also hosted social-driven activities that helped create more memorable stays.
